How it works

Four steps, then you sleep.

No watch to charge, no chest strap, no account to sign up for. Just place your phone face-down on the nightstand and tap one button.

1

Place your phone on the nightstand

Screen down, within an arm's reach of your head, ideally plugged in.

2

Tap start before bed

One tap arms tracking. The screen dims to navy and gets out of your way.

3

Mic + motion do the rest

On-device snore detection and accelerometer-based restlessness. No audio is ever recorded.

4

Wake to your report

Sleep score, snore timeline, restlessness readout, and (with Pro) one specific coaching tip from your night.

Not a medical device. DriftSleep is for personal awareness, not diagnosis. If you suspect sleep apnea or another condition, please see a clinician.
Four screens. That's the whole app.

Calm, dark, and out of your way at 2 AM.

DriftSleep is designed for the worst lighting condition any app will ever face — the moment you reach over to check the time. No bright whites, no surprise modals, no flashing badges.

7 nights of patterns at a glance

One ring per night, color-coded. Tap any night to revisit its report.

Private by design

Your bedroom never leaves the room.

DriftSleep is one of the only sleep apps where audio analysis runs entirely on your device. The microphone buffer is classified in real time and immediately discarded — no waveform is written to disk, no audio is ever uploaded, and the only thing that syncs is a summary of your night (duration, snore count, restlessness, score).

No audio leaves your phone

The mic buffer is analyzed in real time by on-device sound classification, then immediately discarded. Only the timestamp and duration of detected snore episodes are saved — never the sound.

Anonymous by default

No email, no signup, no password. Each install gets an anonymous ID stored in your iOS Keychain. We can't link your nights to a person — not even to you, by name.

Your sleep summary syncs, your audio doesn't

Sleep summaries sync to our secure servers so your history persists across reinstalls. Audio and raw motion data stay on-device, full stop.

Zero ad SDKs, zero tracking

No Facebook SDK, no Mixpanel, no Amplitude, no AppsFlyer, no IDFA prompt. Crash reports are PII-scrubbed and never contain sleep data or microphone buffers.

Built around the things big sleep apps still don't get right.

Most popular sleep apps upload audio "snippets" to their cloud for "analysis." DriftSleep doesn't. Period. The App Store reviewer can verify this claim on every build by checking that no audio buffer ever crosses the network layer.

Read the full privacy policy if you want every detail. It's plain English and short.

Small app, sharp tools.

Seven features. Each one earned its place. No carousel of half-baked add-ons.

Frequently asked

The questions we hear most.

Does DriftSleep actually record audio?
No. The microphone buffer is analyzed in real time on your device and immediately discarded. No audio file is created, written to disk, or uploaded. Only the count, timestamp, and duration of detected snore events are saved — never the sound itself.
Do I need an Apple Watch or other wearable?
No. DriftSleep uses just your iPhone. Place it on the nightstand or mattress within reach of your head, plug it in, and tap Start. No watch, no ring, no chest strap, no smart mattress.
What exactly does DriftSleep measure?
Total time in bed, sleep duration, snore episodes (count + timeline), restlessness (from the accelerometer), and a 0–100 sleep score derived from those. Note: DriftSleep does not estimate REM / Deep / Light sleep stages — accelerometer-based stage estimation isn't reliable enough for us to put a number on it.
Will it drain my battery overnight?
DriftSleep is designed to run on a charging phone. The screen dims to near-black with no animation, audio classification runs continuously but cheaply, and motion reads in bursts. Plugged in, you'll wake to 100%.
Is DriftSleep a medical device?
No. It's for personal awareness, not diagnosis. If you snore heavily and feel tired during the day, or suspect sleep apnea, please see a clinician — DriftSleep can't replace a sleep study.
Can I sync across devices?
Your sleep summary history syncs to our servers so you keep your data when you reinstall. It's tied to an anonymous ID on your device — no account, no email.
How much does DriftSleep cost? Is there a free version?
DriftSleep is a subscription app — there's no separate free tier, but every install starts with a 14-day free trial with full access. After that it's $49.99/year (about $4.17/month) or $6.99/month. Cancel any time before the trial ends and you won't be charged a cent.
What happens when my free trial ends?
If you don't cancel, your subscription begins automatically at the price you picked ($49.99/year or $6.99/month) and DriftSleep keeps tracking your nights. If you cancel before day 14, access simply stops at the end of the trial — no charge, no hassle. Apple sends you a reminder before any trial converts.
How do I cancel Pro?
iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → DriftSleep → Cancel. Apple handles all billing and cancellations — we never see your payment details. You keep Pro through the end of your billed period.
Who builds DriftSleep?
DriftSleep is built by Blossomn, a small independent software studio. No ads, no investors pressuring us to harvest your data. Email info@blossomn.com — a real human answers.
